Family Planning And Women's Health

Oral contraceptive, injectable contraceptive and the fittings of coils can be dealt with in normal surgery by the doctor. All our doctors are family planning trained. We routinely offer cervical smears to all our women patients every three years. A call and recall system is in operation.

Maternity Care

Antenatal Clinic - weekly by appointment Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings and afternoons.

All doctors run their own antenatal clinic in conjunction with the midwife or practice nurse.

2 months Dip/Tet/Whooping Cough, Polio and Hib vaccine and Meningitis C

3 months Dip/Tet/Whooping Cough, Polio and Hib vaccine and Meningitis C

4 months Dip/Tet/Whooping Cough, Polio and Hib vaccine and Meningitis C

12 months Measles/Mumps/Rubella

4 years Pre-school Booster - Dip/Tet and Polio (plus Meningitis C if previously missed)

Influenza Vaccination

We offer free flu vaccinations commencing in October to all our patients including those at particular risk from heart, chest, diabetes and age-related conditions. Please enquire at reception.

Holiday Travel/Vaccination

Full holiday advice can be given. Please ask at reception.

Child Health Clinic

The practice provides a full developed surveillance service. Please register your baby at birth for these checks.

We strongly urge all patients to have their children vaccinated (OURS HAVE BEEN).

All vaccinations are given within the practice.

Well person clinic, weight control clinic and smoking cessation clinic are run by the practice nurse by appointment. She will carry out checks specifically designed to assess your risk of heart disease and stroke.

These are held weekly by all the doctors. See your own doctor first to assess suitability.
